Just a few quick notes to get out there before we all meet at our last few fall events.
- A new board of governors was approved at the annual meeting at Mohican last month. After two years of running the ship I have left the Presidency but will remain as the webmaster. Brent Barbehenn takes over, with Seth Parker moving into the First VP slot and Ernie Michaud into second VP. Please congratulate Brent and offer to help out in any way you can!
- The long-promised website is coming in a matter of days – I just need to update the classifieds and regatta results. I think you will like it.
- Speaking of results, the Jet-14 fleet was the largest (10 boats) of all of the one design fleets in the Labor Day regatta at Lake Norman Yacht Club this past weekend. A full write up and results are coming soon. Special thanks to Dave and Sue Michos (Edgewater) and Nicky Einthoven (Hunterdon) for making long drives down to join us.
- A new JetBlasts should be coming in your mailboxes soon, complete with a survey of critical boat measurements taken at the Nationals last month.
There are three events left on our calendar this year. The Chili Bowl was rescheduled to a one-day event this THIS EVENING (Sept. 10) at Edgewater Yacht Club. Packanack Lake welcomes Jetters October 3rd and the Halloween Classic closes the regatta season October 10-11. I can tell you that there will be at least 5 boats making the trip up from NC that weekend so it could be a big fleet.
Brent Barbehenn has promised to write up his summary of the Nationals at Mohican so look for that soon. Hope to see you on the water soon…
